Title: Eight legged Passenger!
Post by: ianv5 on August 24, 2012, 08:45:30 am
I currently have a Spider who lives in my Drivers Door Mirror!

Just wondered if I am not the only one and I must admit I have grown to respect him/her as my countless efforts when cleaning the car have failed to remove the gritter

Every morning I used to remove the  web attached to the mirror and the side of the door but not anymore :notworthy:

Although I have dozens of spiders living in my car's garage aka batcave (no electricity) I have so far in 7 years never had a spider in my wing mirror - Perhaps they don't like carbonfibre. But I used to have one regularly on my BMW. Even at 70 mph the web would stay intact!

^ On the back of my garage door.

Strange, because my BMW spider only lived in the driver's door side too. Are they learning how to drive before taking over the world?  :scared:

Just a thought, but what you don't want is a wifey or GF who is petrified of spiders and who is driving your car and out pops Mr Spider from the wing mirror to say hello! Or are you going to say that she never looks in the wing mirror!

if i had that the raid would be sprayed all over it in seconds, although i think i'd need 10 cans for the one the soldiers are holding up!!

....I take great care never to kill spiders or insects other than clothes moths or flies only if they are in the house. Oh, and mosquitos because they attack and bite. We have a 'rescue jar' in the house for wasps, bees, butterflies etc that get in the house - I rescued a Peacock Butterfly from the kitchen yesterday.

My fathers car passenger wing mirror has a spider, i borrowed his car yesterday to take some rubbish to recycling centre and noticed the little spider on the mirror and when I set off he went scurrying into the top corner, as soon as I parked up he popped out again  :happy2:

I've got one too in the driver door mirror, nearly every morning i wipe his web away and it returns bigger and better than before  :signLOL:

Had a grasshopper hitch a ride home from the gym the other day too, sat on my bonnet near the wipers but tucked inside when i put my foot down  :driver: he looked a bit dizzy when i got home and so i helped him off my car and into a nearby bush  :innocent:

....That's exactly what I would have done.

You really don't want to mess with those hoppers in case a relative comes to visit you:
