 :happy2:

Awright chaps, Its DaveB1970 from uk-mkivs in the main, treated myself to a big spec 56 plate Gti 3dr last November.

DSG, Pearl Black, Anthracite Leather, Winter Pack, MFD2, Cruise, MFSW, Full DIS.

Mods to Date

19" Helios Alloys with Conti Sport 2 235/35/19 Tyres
"GTI" brushed steel seat inserts - £15 off ebay - best mod ever

Planned Mods
Xenons
RNS510
Full Bluetooth

For those that recognise the username from uk-mkivs, some of you may or not be aware that Brake upgrades are something Im into in a big way, Im ashamed to say the brakes on my car are standard, just cant get around to upgrading them as Im too busy with other sorting out BBK's for others!

Will get around to it, got ECS Stage V,  RS4 (B7 & B5!), GT3 RS, V10 Carrera GT, F360, R32, 996 Turbo, DB9S all more or less ready to fit to my Mk5 . The Helios rims are great with most of these kits fitting with no spacers - just cant decide, plus the 312's are very very good much better than the R32 brakes I had on my mk4

If I can get away from work I'm going to pop my show cherry this year, I fly commercially as a Job so getting planned weekends free can be a big hassle - but Im determined!

Some pics

Thanks for the warm welcome, uk-mkivs will always feel like home but spending a couple of hours reading on here today was really good - stacks of good relevant stuff - should keep me busy, can see me switching teams!!!!

Was very lucky with the wheels - guy had these as a "spare" set to his others, couldn't believe it! had to talk him into parting with them - I like them cos they look like Monty II's on steroids!!!!

Ahhhh ok understood RE PM, to the enquirer about RS4 stuff yes I've got some but also some R8 fronts paired up with some New RS6 discs to be for sale shortly from my "personal collection" that resides under the stairs as opposed to the other stuff in the workshop outside. These  calipers below in the pic were fully refurbed by me last year and will be on a very popular showcar this summer. The R8's will get the same process, also supplied the RS4 Rear fitting kit for the same car.

Ive got front and rear hubs for Mk4, Mk5, TT, Scirroco so mocking stuff up is straightforward

Love this pic, on first look they look orangepeely but if you look carefully its the reflection of the bubblewrap in the finish!!!! :happy2:

Welcome to the madhouse, nice car and love the company vehicle  :happy2:

Wow, nice work on those calipers!  I take it brakes are your hobby?

I'm repainting my R32 calipers at the minute, I wish they'd look that smooth!

Thanks Tom, less of a hobby - little bit more self imposed Semi Pro! but always looking for ways to mod dubs at reasonable cost, for example with a bit of DIY we ended up getting Lamborghini Diablo Brake KIt on a Mk4 for less than £500!

Just through dealing with requests we ended up with a Mk4 Platform solution for every caliper made by Porsche since 1998, from Carbon to Boxster Rears!

I'm slowly coming up with solutions for Mk5/6/Rocco and for me this is the best bit doing the development/fabrication/testing got a guy driving around on some 996 Turbo fronts on a 350mm disc which hopefully will prove itself to be worthy of getting a few kits made up. Also planning a £Three £figures setup Stage 5 lookalikey kit the design of which is 90% complete

The beauty of the Mk5 is the massive amount of parts that are available without modification or machining that can go on from all the Audi Stuff to a whole lot of Mercedes discs.

Anyway thanks for the welcome - got introduced to the site by Tony Danza from over on ukmkivs
