Just a quick one do all rcd510 head units come with Bluetooth as standard?

I don't think that any of them come with bluetooth, you have to fit a separate unit.
-
None of them come with BT. There is a BT option in the radio but the module and the wiring you have to buy separately.
-
Look at the after market ones for built in bluetooth. Pioneer do some good ones.

or Zenec or Kenwood

The bluetooth upgrade is pretty inexpensive - EddieNL is selling the whole kit you would need to £140 delivered. It is plug and play and the integration with the stereo is excellent - I installed the same BT kit to link to my RCD510 last week, tis great :happy2:

Brookesb32 was it simply plug n play. Did you fit it under the passages seat. Thinking of getting one of these and was wondering how hard they were to fit.

Some of the kits are plug & play but they are few £ more expensive. Some of them require to connect 6 cables to your wiring. And they are few £ cheaper

I got the wiring from Eddie on here and they are plug and play looms. Pretty easy to install - I positioned the module under the ashtray which saves a lot of time and effort (I don't have the armrest airvent a so no pipe there to get in the way) I then just followed a guide on here on how to wire the mic up the pillar then roof lining to the position by the roof lights.
Then just turned on the phone Bluetooth and searched. I took a min or so to find it but works perfectly :happy2:

I also have the rcd510 with 5k0 bt module.
Was plug n play, routing of wiring is a bit time consuming but not hard, there's a step by step guide on here.
Integration with the hesd unit is excellent.

Cheers Brookesb32. Will be getting one shortly. Just read the guide and my car seems to have a plastic housing under the passenger seat, I assume this is for the bluetooth. I also have an armrest with the vent, would this be in the way if I installed in the ashtray.

I suspect you have the vw soundpack option and under the plastic housing should be an amp.

I would also believe this to be the case -mine had the amp under the seat. When Eddie fitted my cruise he turned the stereo amp off through VCDS so it did not conflict with the under seat amp.
The BT will prob be too high with the airvent tube in the way but worth a go, if not just a bit more routing to under the drivers seat.

:mad:Nice one. Let you know how I get on.

I got 5N0 kit from Eddie,
Fitted under passenger front seat, much easier to route cables behind glove compartment, car has exactly same carpet cut outs as on drivers side.
