So jealous,
Would love to get my rubstrips smoothed out, but they do take a fair few smacks and save the bodywork on mine.
-
Are the rubber side strips glued/bonded or other? Do you know if they were easy to remove or not?
Cheers, Martin
:happy2:
-
^^^They're heat bonded, but also there are a number of holes in the door skin which they fit into. So it's a fill job on the skin + respray to get the look unfortunately, ie expensive!
-
The Jetta doesn't have them. How different are the door skins from Golf to Jetta?

Cheers bud. :happy2:
Yeah, thought as much, knew it wouldn't be that easy to find them bonded only!!

yeah a few holes in the door skin but also a few in the rear quarter,
(maybe not on a 5 door?)
-
4doors need welding, filling and painting on the 5 door model. so no easier a job,
-
Looks ace!
Is your centre console painted or wrapped? me likey!
-
:happy2:
the ash tray is a grey OEM unit
and the rest has been smoothed and painted .
and then covered in body shop dust :sad1:

Looks the business though!

Looks cool. I like the rear lights strangely... MK6 style, Aftermarket lights are not usually my thing
-
looks weird w/out side mouldings

Personally, I'm not a fan of mods. I find that they cheapen a car's look. Now, before I get lynched, I'd also defend anyone else's decision to mod their cars under the "ETTO" principle.
And, having said all that, I love everything you've done to your car.
Can I attempt to justify this self-contradiction by calling them "improvements" instead of "mods"?

Each to their own :) everyone likes different things!

would be a very boring world if everyone liked the same things

Still needs a drop and new wheels /tyres.
Then a smoothed front grill and maybe a carbon fibre bonnet, to match the wing mirrors and some interior bits.
I think then ill be finished with outside.
