Title: Footwell Lights
Post by: nadlad on August 26, 2012, 12:34:09 am
I had canbus leds in them and they were working i am now using them for the sidelights so  left them disconnected for a couple of days till the same leds arrived in the post!

Problem now is but there not comign on i then tested the same leds in the map light and they worked so that rules the leds being faulty

the footwell lighting are on them clip style connectors  so i might try them in another location to actually see if the light housing is fecked such as the boot light then that will rule the housing out alternatively i have the door exit lights which use the same style connector so i may try them in the footwell just to check the wiring is ok

unless theres a fuse for the footlights otherwise am not sure whats up with them it cant be a coincidence that both sides have stopped working all i did was take the leds out of there and use them for the sidelights

any help ?

Right ave disconnected the housing and tried it and the housing works on another location so the LEDs and the housing are fine I then tried a brand new door exit housing on he footwell connections and it didn't light up this leads me to to think their must be a fuse for them however all my other interior lights are working any ideas?

check the Coding in the CECM to make sure it is still ticked
Check in the highline that it is still switched on there> settings > lights and Vision > footwell lights

also in the CECM use output tests to make the footwell lights light up

Ave checked in highline ed but I'll check vag com too surely if it's chosen in the highline then it should be ticked in the vag com

I'll try output test tonight mate

try swapping the holder with the glovebox light - they are the same holder and connector. I had the opposite problem - led didnt work in glove box so tested it with the foot well holder.

Hope this helps
