Title: Genuine Monza's on ebay? New Pics,
Post by: Padraig on August 26, 2012, 02:49:39 pm
Guys do these look genuine BBS?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-GTI-18-BBS-MONZA-TWO-ALLOY-WHEELS-TYRES-X-4-225-40-18-/180958042861?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item2a21f09aed#ht_500wt_980

This is a photo he sent me of the inside,

Would it be safe to say they are genuine?

Is it still a risk?

Thinking of buying these and getting them refurb to Monza Shadows,

Thanks,

Hard to tell from those pictures. I would ask for pictures of the stamps on the insides also.

Iirc the reps dont get whiteworm?

At 295 posted on the current bid in that condition theyre not that cheap..

As a guide i bought mine freshly powerdoated gunmetal grey with Pirelli tyres (4-5mm tread on all) for £300 off e38 last month

Does the 45 mean anything?

I'm having second thoughts now,
I think the offset for genuine 18" monza is 51 not 45.
I hope someone can confirm this.

Yea i was just having a look at another trend and 51 seems to be genuine,

I have reps on my car at the moment and they are et 45,

But these in the pics have BBS stamp?

Confused now,

From what i have found out, the number 45 in the photo doesn't actually mean ET 45,

Still not sure tho,

They seem genuine to me, I wouldn't worry. Maybe ask him for more pics of the other stamps if you need further convincing.

The 45 in your pic doesn't refer to the ET, look at the photos in this thread for more help:

Look genuine to me... The number in the pic isn't the offset, so don't worry about that. They should also be stamped ET51 on the inside near where the size is stamped (7.5J x 18)

Probably going to cost another 75 quid each to be refurbed as current condition isn't great
