Title: independent VW garage -london recommendation
Post by: cross on August 27, 2012, 04:15:42 pm
Hello,

Can  any  kind  soul  recommend  an independent  VW work shop  to  get  my cambelt and  water  pump  changed. It  is  apparently  due   for  change and  my  local  dealer  is  quoting me £470 for  the pleasure.  I'll just  like  any  recommendation in  the   London area most  preferably  south  London. I   have  seen quite a few  but   will actually  prefer  one  someone  here  has  patronised.
Thanks All

^^^^ sounds about the right price from a main dealer.

Not a million miles from you, have a look at JKM Pefromance in Portsmouth. A well respected independent specialised of the 2.0TFSI. You would still be saving money including travel cost plus the bonus being you will have an indie you can use for those future mods you may have planned.   This is there servicing costs ect

VW Enterprise off Walworth Road.

Never used him myself but know a few people that have.

If you go to the Croydon Meet on Thursdays he would be the guy in the Yellow S3. (you really can't miss him).

Also Beadles in Bromley sometimes give discounts on that package.

AMD in Lakeside did it for me in the last year for £299 including VAT, and that included the water pump - they will also give u a courtesy car to us while they're doing the job if u book it in advance.
Give them a call  :happy2:

I highly recommend VGS:

If you're in their area of S London, you'll get free collection and delivery, too.

No address on the website, But google tells me they're in Croydon.
I see they do Revo software, Might go to them for my DSG remap.
I was going to use Russell Automotive center in north London, only 11 miles away

Hey

Don't know if this place is too far for you but they're awsome and quite good on the pricing too.

Just had my cambelt and waterpump changed on my GTI

Has anyone ever used GSF motorworks in Battersea?

Or has anyone come acrosss other independent garages worth recommending in South London, other than those already mentioned in this thread?

I've used http://www.audivwsc.co.uk/ - they provide a good service and they know what they are talking about.

Just gave Russell Automotive center in north London a call and they are coming up only £20 cheaper than a VW dealer! Also charging me more for the rear brake pads! Anyone else can recommend anyone around the North/ North West London area....?
Cheers
