i had a front end respray,- bumper, bonnet, wings, wing mirrors and after its back the washer jets are acting funny
with lights switched on, theyre meant to wash every 5 presses of window wash lever
all that happens is the washers extend as theyre supposed to but either they spit very little out or nothing at all. they worked fine before.
ive had bumper off and they seem to work on pressure, as all the pump does is divert the washer fluid to those pipes every 5th wash.
if i hold the washers fully extended then spray, they work as they should but if i release them to go back into the bumper they dont work properly.
anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

keep using them a few times to get the air out of the system

i spent an entire afternoon trying this. couldnt get any headway. thought it was getting better then the next wash back to square 1
couldnt see or detect any air in the system at all!

You need to disconnect the pipe furthest from the pump i.e the one where it goes to the jet on the passenger side then pull the stalk until water comes out the pipe then put it back in place,
You should be able to do all this through the fog light cover.

Managed to try that today. No change. Still pop out but just do a little split at the end just before they pop back in
Anyone got Ny other ideas?

turns out, after my new VW Technician friend checked the time the washers were set to spray to was 0.8 of a second.
i think hes changed the time to 1.25 seconds and they spray fine now.
i dont know why having the front bumper wouldve changed the time setting? weird. anyway all working fine again now. i can happily go back to turning my lights off to wash the windscreen just after ive washed the car so no more overspray haha
