Title: Modified car show for a dying 11 year old?
Post by: sub39h on August 29, 2012, 07:16:10 am
Read this on another forum. Really heartbreaking  :sad1:. Sadly I can't be there as I'll be in London (and annoyingly my car will be down the road in Leeds) but I was hoping someone could make up for me not being there.

Let's see if we can make it a special one for the little man!

Wow!!! It's gonna be a good turn out for the little un by the sounds of it. Very sad news for all the family involved, but should be a great feeling for the boy, knowing everyone turned up just for him!!!

I'll try my best to get there mate! There is a chance I'll be going over that way for a night out in Leeds on the same day  :happy2:

My heart goes out to the family, can't find the words.  :sad1:

Am in Sussex so not going. Does this family have a charity they support or a local hospice, hospital in your area, would be happy to help that way?

The OP mentions if you wish to make a donation then make a donation to a charity of your choosing.

I'd imagine that the OP's son would have been treated at Leeds General Infirmary as that is the large paediatric oncology unit in the area. Alternatively there is a Yorkshire based paediatric oncology charity called the Candlelighters (also based at the LGI)

This is devastating news to hear for all concerned. My son who is aged 8 is also car-mad, loves going to meets, etc, but i know if i went on this 'day' with him, i wouldn't have the strength to drive back, literally....!!  :sad1:
