Right Im sorry if people have heard this question being asked plenty of times before but as yet i havent managed to find out the answers??

Ive mentioned in my hello thread that I will be looking for a Candy white manual 5dr GTi or ED30 ( prefered choice )

I know White ED30's are rare... :surprised: does anybody have any idea how many white GTI's were built or sold in the uk??

They also seem to have a premium for a free colour... What would be the advised extras to have??

Any help  would be apprciated chaps?

Candy white does seem to be the rarest followed by Steel Grey, Silver, Red then Black.

I asked VW Uk about the Edition 30's and how many of each colour were produced and they do not hold figures for colours  :surprised:

Out of run of 2300 only 2139 remain, the others being either written off, not on road, or track cars etc.

1280 Manuals
859 DSG models

If you said that there are equal numbers of each colour (which there clearly is not judging by how many silver, red and black ones are for sale lol) that would give you 172 of each DSG and 256 of each Manual.

If you said 2/3rds were 3dr and 1/3rd 5dr that would probably not be far off.

A large percentage of Ed30's seem to be quite basic or "Poverty Spec", so if you guessed that 25% of cars were highly specced, if your looking for a Candy White Well specced DSG 5Dr Edition 30 your looking for 1 car out of 14 for DSG, and 1 car in 21 for Manual.

Extras to have (premium and most sought after) seems to be:-

Xenons
Sunroof
Winter Pack
Parking Sensors
Luxury Packs
Cruise control
Bluetooth.

All figures are estimations based on what is seen for sale, it might be a good idea if the Edition 30 register had both build number AND colour to gauge it more accurately. :happy2:

Thanks for the information im sure ive read that thread somewhere on here...

If i cant get a candy white EDITION 30 then I will settle for a GTI....again seem to be rare!!

I love abit of tartan and seem to notice leather models usually have a decent spec attached.

I would have thought there would be a bigger percentage of white GTI's than Ed30? Am i wrong?

Give it a few years and white won't be as sought after.

Just buy the fastest colour....

Ha ha yeh Ive owner a mk2 GTI 90spec in Tornado red...Love abit of red!!

Mrs wants white when we buy im white or red...both look the part when clean!! but then again i do have OCD

Are there any people on here that own Candy white GTI's and not Editions??
