Title: Autoglym Lifeshine
Post by: nads1_uk on September 05, 2012, 10:02:07 am
While negoating the deal on my new car the dealer said it had the Autoglym lifeshine protection.  He claimed the car should never need polishing again because of this protection.  Now the car at present beads fantastic and the paintwork seems very smooth but surely this is dealer crap and the car will need polishing again at some stage or is this what the lifeshine does?

lifeshine will not last longer than 5-6 months. Add to the fact someone who probably doesnt understand the intricacies of your clear coat, if will end up scratched to sh1t! I see it all the time mate, dealers trying to make a quick buck!

it will cost the dealers about £12 to apply and I know he'll be wanting over £150 for it! robbing twits

Cheers for the reply JPC. I didn't have to pay as they said it was already done but just as I thought it will doing at some point in the future. At least I'll get through the winter with it.

Waste of money.... Do not let them do it.

Take your 150 quid and add another few quid and get of polished and protected by a professional.

The car will only never need to be polished if it's kept in storage in an hermetically sealed room and never driven. Lifeshine is a load of crap as JPC has stated. Ordinarily, I'd spend the money on getting it detailed but since it's already had it applied, I'd still pay to get a proper detail on it.

My car came with it, best thing i ever did was APC and clay the car to get rid of it then applied a decent polish, sealer and then wax.
The difference in shine was very noticable and the sealent i used is much harder wearing.
