Apologies in advance if this has been asked a number of times already, but:
Does anyone know if the honeycomb grille parts can be replaced on the front a mk5 gti? i.e the two honeycomb grille pieces that are either side of the front VW badge. Mine have faded and dont fancy buying a whole new front grille, although i do fancy a smooth carbon one
Cheers in advance for any responses.

Its all one piece isnt it? And im pretty sure it does come appart as you can buy badgeless ones. One thing to do might be to primer and spray it black? Just with a rattlecan should be fine. Laquer it of corse

pretty sure its unpainted though is it not?

try some bumber care product on it, it always freshens mine up :happy2:

as mentioned try some plastics care aka something like AutoFinesse revive or G Techniq C4 Permanent Trim Restorer. I have used both and there fantastic products, brings plastics up like new.

As above, i have tried to treat the plastic, but it extremely faded and as it is an aftermarket grille i think the poor quality has just been eaten away. Will get round to getting a whole new grille hopefully.
Cheers

Didnt bother with the lacquer. I used Plastikote on mine over a year ago and it still shines

Yeah, seen quite a few example in the US of people plasti-dip'ing theirs. Some good results some bad :happy2:
