Sure there has been a million and one threads about alloys on here, however i cant quite find the answer i am after... :sad1:
I am after some alloys for my 1.9tdi 55plate mk5, and have about £400-450 to spend on the wheels alone, tyres included would be lovely ofcourse.
however the alloy wheel shops online seem to offer very limited for that price range in 18's Wheels.
I wonder if i would be better looking for second hand, but i find myself confused by all the - offsets, ET , sprigot rings .. etc etc - so i kinda head towards the online shops as its a guaranteed fit. I saw the Wheel thread and that helps a little, but with limited info i dunno how much the wheel is worth or if there was additional costs to make them fit (adapters etc)
the ones i like the most on Rim-Style are :
http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=12890;wheel=inovit_dtm_hs;dia=18
http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=12890;wheel=dare_lp-5_ms;dia=18
Both after postage / locking bolts etc are around £450~
Maybe i cant find better then these for similar cash brand new OR second hand, but i would like to think i could.
so any info would be brill to be honest.
once again, sorry for the same old thread....

Hi mate - personally I think the first wheels are hideous, and the 2nd wheels are reps of the Rotiform BLQs which are a little outdated now (again, in my opinion - which you are free to disagree with).
I would go for quality wheels 2nd hand, either OEM VAG or BBS etc.
I wouldn't trouble yourself with spigot rings. If you've got 5x112 wheels, you don't technically need them (tho you might get a little wheel wobble without them). In any event, they're cheap to get ahold of.
I think you'd be better off looking for some wheels you like on eBay etc and then asking on here now you can get them to fit rather than settling out of convenience.
Good luck

i see, well ye i agree with your oppinions on the wheels, like i say- not a lot of choice for ya money lol.
will keep looking for 5x112 wheels i like and then come back with some questions about how i can make them fit.
EDIT:-
I went for these,

You may have trouble with 9.5" rears

wrong link, same but 8J all round instead, did notice that in another topic Joe, Cheers!
Just need to get hold of decent alloy wheel bolts and possibly stretchy tyres :ashamed:

Falken 452s are good for stretch!
