After nothing but trouble with Norton I've eventually managed to remove it, it wouldn't even do that correctly  Can anybody recommend some cheap(free) anti-virus software for my old laptop???
-
The free avg, I know loads of people who use it with no problems
-
MSE (microsoft security essentials) from Microsoft.
If you are a Barclays customer, they give out free Kaspersky internet security keys.
-
MSE and AVG are the best ones, I find AVG a bit of a system hogger
-
If Mac OSX give Sophos a go. Discrete and free as well :)
-
Avast, free or you can pay for extra bits. :happy2:

I use avg with no problems at all, found Norton slows your computer down

cheers fellas :happy2: AVG now installed. I also found Norton made everything a bit sluggish also

I used to love AVG. used it from v4 to v6. V7 was just bloatware. Switched to Avast and never looked back. Also use Comodo firewall as was having problems with zonealarm and alcohol 120%.
