Title: Outside of digitised area
Post by: DaveB@Vagbremtechnic on June 09, 2009, 03:45:18 pm
Awwright chaps,

Got a MFD2 version C with DVD nav, sometimes when I try to enter a postcode the address/postcode doesnt get recognised and "outside digitised area" comes up and the system either locks up requiring a on/off or it just reboots back to the VW splash screen....It has started happening more often now, I am not sure whether its a corrupt DVD - it looks original but could well be a lookeylikey as the MFD2 came from ebay. Sometimes if I reset back to factory it recognises the postcode and does its thing!

Any ideas? How do you upgrade the firmware on these......Dealer job???

Hi Dave,

This isn't something I have heard of with the MFD2 (I had two versions, B & C in previous cars) which both ran without any of these problems for a while on the v3 & v4 DVD's.

The firmware is normally available on the web but if you can get the dealer to do then you won't be taking the risk of the firmware update going Pete Tong.

The best place for info is vwnavi.com  :happy2:
