This came the other day, so i set about stripping it down ready for filling and paint
I first removed the foam backing so that i could get to the clips that hold the trim pieces in place.

The trim then just pops out by pressing back the clips.

I then popped off the audi badge, there is a small recess where it once was, that got filled, then painted.
Here's how it turned out

You get the cover secondhand?

No mate brand new.£67+vat from tps

No mate brand new.£67+vat from tps
Cheaper than I thought they were.
Any modifications required for it to clip onto the engine or just it fit straight on easily?
Wouldn't mind one for mine.
-
Yes mate, you have to change the mounting brackets. They just unscrew, then fit tts ones. About £2 each.
-
Ah, I see.
Cheers mate.

I haven't actually fitted it yet pal. The final pic was just resting on the engine for photograpy purposes. I dont have the part no myself but i have ordered some from audi to see if they fit. I have been pointed towards some in another thread so if the ones i have ordered are wrong then i will order the ones in the thread.

Got my fixing bolts today. The part no's that were mentioned earlier in the thread were the correct ones. So, the prices. For the longer bolts were £5.79 each x2 and the small one at the front was £2.50 coming in at £16.90inc vat . The covers from audi are £75 inc vat

Just gave my local Audi dealer the numbers for the bolts. The rear bolt number was fine, but the front bolt number came up on his search as a sump gasket! Checked the part number twice and came up the same again!!
-

john, correct part no's are as follows
Rear long bolts are WHT00731A
Small front bolt is 06E103164
-
sorry about that :ashamed:
but now we have the correct numbers :drinking:
they fit ok?
-
Cheers Gaz, I'll try to order again tomorrow. :happy2:
-
How do these fit on to the engine? My rear pegs are being used as mounts for the ITG heat shield.
-
You don't use the original mounts mate.
You change 2 of your cam cover bolts for one with pegs on and the cover locates on them.
It does not interfere with any of your itg fitment.
-
Lovely job cheers, I'll have a look for a how to - I did check the audisport thread but couldn't find any more info on the process.
-
When you order the cover you order 3 pegs 2 of one style and 1 of another.
The small one screws into the little hole in your inlet manifold and the 2 longer ones go on each side of the cam cover one beside the ting belt cover and the other behind the fuel pump.
Very easy to do and takes 5 mins to do.
Sorry I've not got any pics to help you.
