Title: Map sensors
Post by: martziniuk on September 14, 2012, 08:57:19 pm
Hi,
Is the standard GTI map sensor the same as the ED30? or in other words is the K03 sensor the same as the K04?

No, the standard gti has a 2.5 bar sensor and the ed30 a 3.0 bar one.

Ahh, ive just read they are compatible so it might be a worthwhile buy so I can see the boost pressure over 2.5bar in VCDS.

Don't do it!   :scared:
Using a 3 bar map sensor on a standard gti or upgraded k04 will give the ecu incorrect readings unless you map is specifically tweaked for this hardware change.

As far as im aware it needs the ed30 ecu for the 3 bar map sensor to work
