Just wanted to check against the thread I used when I got my stuff and they are all the same. All mine was ordered from T L Darby in Burton on Trent.
-
Just called VW Birmingham - still nothing.
Said call TPS - they wont talk to me trade only!
-
Got the Pins and Bumpers from my VW main dealer, they were unable to get the struts so had to go directly to Skoda and no problem with that.
Not sure why you can't go to TPS, maybe they are different from one area to the next or it depends on the staff, my nearest one is fine with complete muptards like me just walking off the street.
:happy2:
-
can all control units be coded
-
Where is this coded
-
CCM
location depends on what version you have
-
I got all the bits delivered from a Skoda dealer on eBay - check item 320825148667
-
Did mine on the car yesterday, very easy took 15 -20 mins. Great little 'cool' mod, it works most of the time, may need to let it bed in and or adjust it slightly

I did mine at the weekend after leaving it for a day or 2 it seems to pop and then open very slowly once ive done it once it opens every time , the struts may just need bedding in or something ?

Outside temperature will affect the operation aswell. You will find it won't work first time when it's colder as the gas pressure is slightly reduced.

I can't find the other two parts on there, do you have a direct link for them please?
-
^^^^ contact the seller and give him the parts numbers, asking for a price for all.

Have done just now, cheers.

Just fitted all my parts today and got it coded. Doesn't work :sad1:
Checked box 3 on byte 2 of the 46 control module and the boot just locks. The fob couldn't open it and either could the button on the drivers door.
Turn the check box back off and the click save, the boot flies open, but just works as previous. Absolutely gutted!
-
Is there a link for the info, on the boot pop. How to code it correctly :happy2:

Don't be gutted.
Mine didn't work with the standard VCDS instructions either... do you have an early version car?
I forget which bits and bytes worked but it's close to above in the same 46 control module. It will work.
Also, even after it's coded up... it doesn't work great in cold weather. Pretty hit and miss.

That doesn't sound good as I am planning on doing this mod this week.

yep...ordered up the bits myself today..

As above, you will sort the coding eventually, but its very hit and miss.
Could do with stronger struts tbh….although like some have mentioned it will work alot better with the bump stop springs pulled out more.
Only trouble with this is, to get my boot to pop every time I need em quite far out. This means when the boot is shut, it doesnt sit flush anymore. :sad1:
I think Tfsi-Mike mentioned some custom gas struts, you can get made to whatever pressure you want?
Maybe a group-buy is in order?

^^^^ We will leave the GB up to you then Carlo! Do like mine (when its warm and "popping")

-

wow - thank you sir - your service is better than vw lol
I assume everyones keys have the boot symbol in the middle button position,,,, was trying to press it in multiple different ways when I bought the car, thought it must do something lol,,, now I understand.
I will buy the parts on the part numbers you supplied
my car is an 08, does that make a difference and can I fit this myself ?
also any ideas how much I should pay someone for the coding alone
many many thanks to you sir :pomppomp:

Im not sure then, I had Eddie-NL code mine so not sure if the coding from the ECS Tuning guide is correct or not.

Yes, just a generic key. Tis nice to be able to use it, always eats noticed in car parks when you "pop" it from a distance and peeps look round!
You can get all the parts from your local TPS, or VW for the VW parts and Skoda for the struts. It's a 2 min job to code so hopefully a kind forum member should only charge you a few beer tokens.
Am looking at the strut part number now and its C. Prices were correct as off 2 months ago.

Martin beat me to it
If you press the boot button now it will just pop the boot onto the first latch. (just unlocking the boot and leaving the other doors locked.)
Once you fit the new parts, you need it coding so that it bypasses the latch. Therefore when you press the boot button it will pop straight open.
Where abouts are you from Stacy?
Im sure there will be a friendly forum member not too far away that can help with coding :happy2:
-
ha ha nice one guys
I am up in inverness just now until house gets finished in Peterculter so have to drive down every 2 days for work in Aberdeen sigh
anyway its only temporary and 2 weeks of for xmas so not to bad
out of curiosity if I walk into vw and ask how much to supply and fit what do you think they will say :rolleye: :pomppomp:
-
As mentioned, VW may not be able to supply the Skoda parts (2 of my local VW dealers will not). It's a 10 minute job to fit, follow the instructions from my previous post, then its just coding. Have heard a story of a member being quoted £100 to just simple code this mod, incredible, and daylight robbery!!

Shame too far for me :innocent:
VW don't seem to want to supply the Skoda parts. I got all the parts for a Skoda dealer on ebay. The prices were a bit more than listed by Martin but more convenient and good service :happy2:
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/number1forskoda?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:GB:1181
Email them with the part numbers.
I have the revision 'D' pump stops, I assume they are an updated version.
-
^^^^ :happy2:
Am looking through ETKA and still can't see the D revision, update is needed there I think.
Go with the D revision Stacy. I shall amend my original post on part numbers so I don't confuse peeps (any further)
:happy2:
-
thanks for that gentleman, I have pmd the e-bay member for price / availability and also query on the revised ( D ) part number
bet he says £100 but will see lol :pomppomp:
-
TPS in Aberdeen will also sell you the parts, I have been in a few times and had no problems with them

Yeah mine is an 05, didn't realise there was a difference in coding. Shame you can't remember the coding you did, would have been an early xmas present ha! Will have to try and give it another go sometime, guess it's going to be a case of trial and error.

Thanks for that I'll give it a go! :happy2:

The ebay one quoted me £67.99 inc p&p for all the parts btw.
-
Take it if I just replace the pump stops it will just lift the bootlid slightly with coding?

I guess they're taking advantage of the demand for the kits, but I know VAG prices are going up again next week

Yeah that's how much I paid 2 weeks ago.
