just seen this on golfmkv.com and was wondering what is the point in removing the insulation?
is it supposed to make the supercharger noise louder?

cheers, dan

ive just asked :)
-
go for it dan, more noise and less heat id think,

I doubt the claims of extra power are founded. As soon as it was up to temperature there would be no advantage as it would still reach the same operating temperature!
It would definitely give a little extra whine though, but a supercharger whine isn't the nicest sound IMHO.

thanks guys, any extra supercharger noise is a plus for me
drown out the sound of those noisy injectors..
cheers for the replys :happy2:

i love supercharger wine, its an aquired taste

How did you come to aquire it Joe? :jumping:

less retained heat in the supercharger = lower intake temps.
Less insulation also means = Supercharger WHINE!!!!

cheers benny :happy2:

Dan,
I have this too...
I'm assuming you mean the insulation under the bonnet ??? There other places that arent easy to take out
I'm tempted to take the bonnet insulation out now :P
-
i shall be doing this at the weekend if i can borrow a ramp
richi- it is the insulation covering the supercharger right down the back of the engine, not the insulation on the underside of the bonnet
