Holy fudgesicles! They look better than normal 18" Monzas!
....
Nathan! Those look amazing!! (even with sh!t photography!) I can't wait to see them next Saturday!
I think I need to speak to the people who did yours - I fancy black 'inserts'!! :jumpmove:
they look fantastic mate, wow, they look like a fantastic job too, so lush!!
how many coats of colli you put on there?
ive got a new set of wheels to go on my car, which hasnt been delivered yet. Its doing my head in not having the car so i put my frustration into another coat of collinite on the rims!!
....
Nathan, are your new wheels still Diamond-cut but with a different lacqueur?
Another nice set of designer rims Nath  In a long line of rims.
VW should have designed a monza 3 for ed 30 with sutle differences :happy2:

It was the all black Monza, but they didn't do it for the UK

The Rimming king?? What's all that about then??
The wheels look great. Very nicely finished.
When they machined them, they must have taken off some material from the face, has this made the lip any thinner?
Very very nice.......... :happy2:
i would like to see these on my car :smiley:VW should have designed a monza 3 for ed 30 with sutle differences :happy2:

Got some of those too
I know what you mean about making it look like a GTI, might give the odd ED30 owner a shock if they think it is  :driver:

Yeah, the matt finish would have suited the metallic black GTI/Ed30 much better imo.

Oh you are sh*tting me! Those black Monzas look soo much better than the Pescaras. As I've said before, VW should have kept the Monzas for the ED30 and used the Pescaras on the stock GTI. Or at least given us some lush ones like Vorx or similar.
i think they considered them to extreme for the UK market, and was worried it would affect sales
i think they considered them to extreme for the UK market, and was worried it would affect sales
....Whaaaat!!?? :fighting: - Then they obviously don't ever visit the GTI forums!! :fighting: :jumping:
^^^^
This raises the interesting question of what percentage of GTI owners are 'enthusiasts'? (Defining people like us as 'enthusiasts').
Judging by the percentage of other GTI drivers I see on the road who don't acknowledge a wave (or is it simply English reserve?), it's a sad indication. I guess that for some, the GTI badge only indicates a different model of Golf and merely satisfies their badge snobbism.

Hi Nathan,
I spoke to Nigel this morning - Extremely helpful chap - I wanted to two-tone (black on the inserts) powdercoat my Monza 18's, but it's not possible to get a clean line as it's all painted.
However, I'm going to visit them to check out their colours.
:happy2:

So Robin, your having the inserts painted darker and then the outside face will also be painted (powercoat) then? Sound just what I want for my original wheels - look forward to seeing them.

So you will have to put up with me getting a little excited.
What tyre shine product do you use Nathan?
if you are cornering very hard, you want grip/adhesion to work on the shoulders and tyre dressing works against you achieving this
Thanks for that JPC and Greenouse! I'll invest in some!

Out of interest, you thought it looked like what?
Robin, after seeing them on the MK6 and the guy that was introducing it mentioned the black inserts were designed to do just that, I couldn't get them out of my head and needed to have some on my car (even though I had just recently purchased new wheels :ashamed:).
I am really pleased with them and will be reluctant to put the black huffs back on in the Spring............

....Aren't you putting the cart before the horse?
- Winter wheels:
Black Huffs because they have no potential white worm issues and it's much more likely to happen in Winter.
- Summer wheels:
Diamond-cut Monzas with black inserts to show themselves off much better on sunny days and in photos.
But what will you do for Spring and Autumn?
