Title: RNS510 problems with sat nav and HDD
Post by: HDautos on September 23, 2012, 11:11:44 pm
The sat nav, maps and HDD seems to only work when it wants too. Most of the time HDD is not lit up and the sat nav says insert DVD disc. Guessing I may need to update it? anyone had this problem?

It's not unheard of for the hard drive to fail in the RNS510, maybe yours is not long of this earth.

Rip out the old HDD if that is the case and replace it with a solid state unit. Should speed it up some. Does also mean virtually disassembling the whole unit unfortunately.

Does the hdd have a standard sata interface?

As far as I know, it has an IDE interface.
