hi everyone, just joined this site, great we have a dedicated area for our mk5s so this is my first posting.
just bought my car and the selling garage put on new 18 monzas and very happy with them but noticed some people stating you should not use any cleaners on them ?
i use a car wash area where they wash by jet personally but they use spray on your alloys which i presume is the normal wheel cleaner stuff which will have acid etc in it and they also use a brush to scrub.
should i not do this due to the finish on the monzas ? will this ruin them ? and if not what is the best way to take care of them ?
have also read some people use autoglym super resin polish followed by several coats of autoglym extra gloss protection,,, is this a good idea or should i just use soap and water

Avoid the car wash at all costs. Do it yourself, look in the detailing section for ideas

Seal the alloys with something like G5 technique, it makes them easier to clean the brake dust off. I use halfords alloy wheel cleaner in a blue bottle and sometimes wonder wheels, as long as you dont leave them on too long and rinse them off you should be fine.
