I see some people fully colour code the lower half, where others leave a small section of the lower half black (which IMO looks better)
Are there 2 seperate parts or will it just be a case of masking up?
Also the same question for the front? Finally is the ED30 front splitter differant to the GTI?
Cheers, Sam

The ED30 splitter is different to the GTI version :happy2:

I too want to colour code botht eh skirts and the rear bumper, but do like the ones that leave a strip of black in the middle.
Am currently getting some R32 sideskirts sorted as they are already smoothed, so just need a spray and they are done,
(also prefer the look of them)
-
Strip of black? On the skirts or the rear valance?
-
On the rear like (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Foo246%2Fvwrascal56%2FSNC11179.jpg&hash=8a895f821ee9a99db7f0592d91ee518123e1c39b) looks 8)
Are these 2 pieces seperate or is it one piece which requies masking?

The lower black section comes off. There are a couple screws at the bottom and the rest is attached with clips! Careful when you pull it off though not to snap any clips!
If you get the top half colour-coded then it should cost around £250-£300!

Im pretty sure the Gti is a 2 part bumper, where its been left black in the pic, the top of that which is red is still the same piece as the black!
-
So to get it looking like above, it will need masking up? :rolleye:
-
Yes, the piece you want to keep black like in the pic will need masking up!
-
Nice one, no problem, cheers mate!

Sorry I thought you were referring to side skirts!
Yeah thats a standard GTI bumper but painted. I'm going to do mine soon, and I'll just mask off that section before I start smoothing it. You could smooth the lot and paint the bottom bit black but I think the edging would be a nightmare!
