Some great times there bendy! When I went last time, I couldn't get into the 14's! most likely due my poor driving! What kind of mods are you running and is the car a manual?

What was the turn out like? Much people around? And who is h115! 12.5!

Great times there mate, and it was good to eventually meet  :happy2:
My best time was 13.0557  :sad1:
going to have to get her serviced and checked out, as well as getting the GIAC DSG map.  Hurdy did well, apparently a 12.6  :congrats:
Either the R's are a lot quicker than the S3's or I haven't gotten her setup aggressively enough :signLOL:

My favourite drag of the day was the Cadillac CTS-V getting beaten by a Nogaro Blue Audi S4, I don't know what the Audi was running but it was awesome to watch!!

Cheers Justin, the R performed well, but still struggles with the top end, maybe due to the torque limit still being there. My fastest times were 12.615 and with a passenger 12.787

Thanks Hurdy, be interesting to see what power it is actually making when it goes on jkm's rollers in a coupe of weeks.

Your R looks fantastic. I didnt get to see you do a run but looks like you got some good times even with the torque limit issues.

What time did your friend in the blue R get?

Turned out to be perfect weather and was nice to put a few faces to some names on here at last  :happy2:

Had a nice drive up with Justin and was pretty much at the front of the queue when they opened the sprints  :driver:

Overall a little disappointed with my best time of a 14.9 and was just about catching Bendy up on one of my runs but felt like i was down on power a little  and would've been far behind with his later low 14's runs

Not sure whether by disconnecting the battery whilst have my new steering wheel and controller fitted has done something to my map, wasnt sure if it was in my head at the time, but today it wasnt pulling as hard as at inters back in June  :sad1:

Definitely getting an air vent newsouth boost gauge after seeing one today and will help me keep an eye on things

Dave

If your car has Revo software then it will have reverted to default B0 F0 T0 settings when disconnecting the battery and will affect the performance quite a bit mate.

Jd managed a best of 12.86, which is great for stage 1.

What was his terminal speed compared with yours John?

How much will the torque limiters effect the terminal speeds?

If the torque is being limited, id imagine its where peak torque is developed so maybe between 3000-4500rpm before it drops enough to not be effected by a limiter.

So when at WOT changing gear at the redline the car wouldnt it likely be outside of the area being limited.  Just a thought, and plus sec 0-60 isnt a slow launch either lol

Thanks Ron i did hear that can happen but i'm running an AMD stage 2+ map so i'm guessing they might be affected by disconnecting too  gonna give them a call to get the map checked and a boost gauge fitted while im there  :happy2:

Shouldn't be affected. It only applies to Revo.

Also effects my APR map, whereas I have to input my pincode to switch maps if the battery has been removed  :happy2:

And of course a few of the R

Keith and his R turned up at the end of the day:

Keith's launch compared to John's launch:

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2FBadaBingbadaBoom%2FGTI_Festival_2012%2FDSC_1201.jpg&hash=9672e63982e2c86bb0a2d24dfbafaad0002e8b8e)

And the video I've done of the R:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAJNY7Fyu7E&feature=plcp

It's only the second video I've ever edited using Windows Movie Maker so it's not fantastic!

Hope to be there again next year  :happy2:

(Some of the photos might not be working right now but photobucket should sort itself out)

Had a few words with Dan, he had too much power to put down, and like me he was frustrated not to get into the 12's  :fighting:

Dan managed a better run than the manual APR stage 3 MKVI Golf GTI that was there. He only managed a 13.8 and Dan did a 13.45, so not too bad. I thought Dan's terminals should be higher given the power he's now running. A poor wheely spinning start usually ends up with a higher terminal, or so I thought?
