Title: help whats this cable?

got my golf gti.  under the compartment box near the steering, when i open the box i have this loose cable coming out of there.  
i dont know where its from?  im wondering if the guy had some sort of bluetooth installed and its from that.

can anyone advise?

Get your head further down in the footwell and see if there is anything plugged into the diagnostic port. I think its purple or pinkish in colour. It could possibly be a part of a VAG diagnostic kit or possibly a Revo switch, or something similar  :confused:

If you squeeze the sides of the conpartment and then pull it will come out allowing you to see whats behind it

That looks like an in-line fuse holder, has the car got (or had) a phone kit etc fitted?

Yes mate the previous owner had a phone kit but took it all out i thought. Is it easy to rip this out?

Trace it back to where it comes from, I imagine it will be either the fusebox or from the power supply block just below that trim.
