Hi
Looking at buying some 18 inch et 41 alloys for my mk5 tdi golf but want to know which tyres I should fit??
Cars currently at stock hight but will looking at lowering it to 40mil in the near future so want to fit something that will not foul....
Any info or advice would be great!!! Thank you

225/40R18's would be correct.

what width are the rims?

I might have a couple of budget accelera tyres with 3 mm or so for sale 225/40/18 92y if you need some to put you on for the time being, also some bridgestone re050a with 2mm same size etc

I'm running 18x8 ET40 and 215/35/18 tyres. No scrubbing when driving super low

They were 8 inch wide sorry forgot that bit! Lol
Been a great help people! Thank you all...
Had another quick question on ET.. What are my ET limits so I have no rub on any new wheels I buy... I know ET45 is ok but what's my heighest and lowest so to speak so I avoid any rubbing? Wheels will be 18 or 19 and 8.5 max width
Hope I have made sense lol
Cheers again

I think 215 40 18 is great on an 8".
Saying that, I've just had some put on a 9"
-
i'd be on 215.40 x18
-
I agree with 215 40 18.
I have 225 at the moment and with coilovers the wheel scrapes the arch when cornering hard.
Rims are 18" x 8 ET42

This is the exact same problem I'm having at the moment i want 225/40/18 but everybody keeps saying 215 are much better for clearance!

215 on a 8" rim is almost zero stretch if you want to run fairly low dont run a 225 it will rub
