after taking ages to register on here, i finaly did it  :smiley: had my 06 gti about 2 months and i love it !
just one question. Do they all make a ticking noise at the front/middle of the engine? or is it just mine

hi mate, fellow newbie here  :wink: does the ticking happen all the time? or is it just after turning off after a drive?

its all the time m8. it doesnt sound like anything major. Inside the engine or cam.

oh ok mate, i actually havent got a golf yet, so have no experience with them, but it did sound like it might have been just your manifold cooling down after turning off the engine  :smiley:

There's a electronic valve that ticks all the time when running, not sure which part it is but think its something to do with the N75 valve?

I get the ticking noise too..

Been told its the characteristics of the engine. Hope others can clarify too?

I think it's a valve on top of the carbon canister, black cylinder thing filled with charcoal to improve emissions
