Hello all.
All new to this. But have just got myself an edition 30 in black number 127.
Is it true they stage 1 map to 300? How come if soo
Cheers will

~300bhp.... Usually about 280-290bhp.
The reason? The edition 30 came with a K04 turbo, as opposed to a K03 as used on the normal GTI. The K04 flows better. More flow... more boost... more power! :driver:

You won't achieve 300bhp with a stage1 revo map alone. More like 285bhp. Add an intake and that should see you up around the 300 mark :-)

300 is achieved regularly at stg1, most that we dyno/tune will see 290-305
like this one:http://www.dyno-tuning.co.uk/gallery/vwGolfEdition30.htm
Our dyno is generally reared as being a 'low reader' compared to others in the region as well. One of our customers achieved 297bhp/295 ftlb on ours and 334bhp and 329ftlb on a Dastek and similar figures on a Maha.
look past the peak figures though, its more about the power delivery and torque curve.

Well heres mine... stage 1!

Same as you Rich. I achieved 285bhp on a dyno dynamics roller. 300bhp is generous for stage1 alone.

We are talking such small % figured here, add an extra 5-10psi to your tyres on the dyno and you can gain 2-3% power.

Cheers for the replies.
I thought an intake or exhaust would only benefit stage 2? Or would it help with stage 1 as well??
Thinking milltek turbo back, but which intake to go for?? Don't really want to lose the engine cover which I've seen with some intakes. Thanks in advance!!
-
You can add an intake at stage1 it gives great gains. Think of it as stage1+ . You could also add a TB exhaust too , but this would be more beneficial if you are thinking of moving up to stage2.

Don't worry about all that nonsense! :signLOL:
Just go straight for stage2, intake, exhaust, springs & brake upgrade.......................................get it all out of the way early as it's only going to come and bite you on the ass eventually :happy2:
Good luck.......................

I'm not bitter by the way

I would if I had the finances andy!
Which intakes are best people? Preferably keeping the engine cover.
Cheers guys.

Mines been dyno'd at 303bhp and 327ft/lbs torque. That's with Revo stage 1 & a blueflame TBE.
Not sure how accurate the dyno was but seems pretty quick
