I'm getting some FSDs to smooth out the low speed ride. As I understand it orignally there was the 2100-4001 for all Golfs and then the 2100-4090 was brought out as a firmer damper for the Gti. What are people running ?
I'll probably get the 4090s but wondered what experience other people had with them

I'd be more inclined to look at Bilsteins, they have a nicer progressive damping rate - I had the FSDs on another car and they were a bit hit and miss, neither fish nor fowl.
-
My understanding of the FSD's is that one is for OEM springs and the other for uprated lowering springs.
Enjoyed them on my old Octavia as they evened out the ride on Eibach springs.

It is partly the tyres I currently have are rock hard on the sidewall. But I'd rather not bin a set of premium tyres if I don't have to. I'll be staying on standard springs.

Well just ordered the 4090s from Awesome GTI so I'll see soon what they are like :-)
