Hi all, I have a mark 5 gti, when I bought it the garage had refurbed the 18" alloys by effectively painting them as they were scuffed. They looked good but 2 years on the paint / lacquer is peeling off in the wheel nuts area so not looking too great now.
I'd really like them restored to the original alloys so they effectively look like new & have been quoted £400 + VAT for this. Has anyone had this done & is the quote I've been given reasonable?
Thanks
Phil

The quote looks reasonable. Monzas 2 due to dual colour nature will suffer this paint peel off shorlty. Some peeps here decided to powdercoat Monzas 2 in one colour. Plenty of threads here.

I would say around £100 per corner sounds like a good price. As mentioned, a bit more work than just a colour change refurb.

Thanks for your replies.... do they diamond cut the alloys to get rid of the paint/lacquer & any previous blemishes? ie it really will come up looking like new?

in my experience dimond cut for summer only, when the salt gets to a stone chip its games a boggie again lol

A1 @ Wolverhampton everytime, I have just paid £85 a corner as I mentioned this site. Ask for Nigel. Had them done with the black background. Perfect! Got pictures but how do you post them?
