Title: What does staggered mean?

Hi all im looking to buy some rims(bbs lm) i see some which say they are staggered what does that mean ? And also what are my cars wheel digits , the pcd and all that, my car is 1.9tdi 5door Can i buy 17s or 18s and then lower later on. Would i need spacers and all that. Anybody have any experience....?

Just add to itt as genuines are pretty expensive sticking to reps are they any good ?

Wider rears, so they'll be 8" wide on the front 9.5 on the rear say...

Ok thanks for that, does it mean i may need some spacers for the rear?

Staggered is when the rear wheels are wider than the front your wheels are 5x112 et 45 is pretty much the golden offset
