Sorry its another one of them threads,but I fancy a r32 but whether it will be a mk4 or 5 depends on what I get for mine.Not sure what it is worth,the car is on 50k and 2 owners from new in the same address,please have a look through my build thread + its got cruise control now and see what you think

£100 :signLOL:you need a R32 Andy, I love mine but not the fuel bill, cost me £115 to do 300 miles back to work last weekend :surprised:

Haha must be, mine sounds perfect now I've had the decat done. Just ordered vibratechnics engine mounts and new low dust pads all round

I'm not so bothered about MPG as I only do 14 miles a day. I only get low 20's most days as I usualy sit in traffic :laugh:

I do 2 miles a day so fuel bills are not a issue :signLOL:

I know, life's a bummer haha. I keep meaning to ring you about tyres Andy. Im looking for 225/40/18's for my new wheels, have got goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2's on at the minute and don't rate them 1 bit, before these it had Bridgestone Potenza's on and they felt much better.
What can you recommend that is relatively long lasting, fairly quiet and is better than the goodyears? Looking to spend about £150 per tyre

Did you actually get any feedback on your car value, Andy? :laugh:
I have been thinking about this even more the last few days as we're in a similar position, from what I recall you have some very good but removable mods (audio, exhaust, wheels etc) that would probably mean you get more, assuming you still have the old bits?
I see an awful lot of TDI's for sale from 53-55 plates in the £4xxx bracket. However most of them are dogs with high miles and extremely basic spec. Also, how many suffer from rusty wings now too?
I would think you'd get up to £6k for yours, but it all depends on mods whether you'd get more or less than that. The fact the mk7 is out soon won't help current/future values either. Have a good look an Autotrader, and get some valuations from Glass etc. I got one and it came in at a figure I had in my head already.
Was going to look at an 06 R32 but saw that these are also suffering badly from corroded wings - having already been through a claim with my car it's sort of putting me off another mk5 :sad1:

I bet a passenger ride in the 2 HGP turbo'd r32s that are up this way would deffinetly change your mind (rich's and the blue one)

Ritchie still owns me a shot gun ride in is r32 turbo,would love a mk5 but props would be a mk4.

Been looking at when I can MOT mine and worked out I've done just under 4000 miles in 10.5 months! No point having the TDI, although it's proving a wrench advertising it, or having a dealer offer me a trade price that I never thought the car would stoop to.
You've had your car since new so I can understand why you are having a major dilemma!
PS. I just signed up on that local forum, see if you can spot me :grin:

I bet its not a a good independent garage. Or get a mk5 r32? :signLOL:
