Hope I haven't missed other posts on this, my apologies if so, but I heard the Adele song Skyfall this evening for the first time, from the upcoming Bond flick.
Really poor I thought, she sings it well enough, it's produced in a very slick Bond theme kinda way, but bloody hell what crap lyrics the poor lass is singing.
Gotta say my preference for the Bond theme this year would be the Muse track, Supremacy, but guess it was not to be, from what the Interweb is saying.

Yeah i agree... its a weak song made even weaker because she sings it badly! :sick:

Don't mind it, not the best Bond theme but its ok. It's not what I would call a typical Bond theme but I think it goes with this particular incarnation of Bond and the tone of it is spot on for that.
Still a lot better than the ones by Madonna or Garbage :sick:

I think that Adele is far too overrated as a singer and this Skyfall song illustrates why. The song itself doesn't help either. She can sing of course but she's very ordinary IMO and the music industry has 'big'd' her up.
The songs by Madonna, Garbage, and Sheryl Crow are amongst my favourite Bond movie songs.
Amy Whinehouse could have done a strong Bond song.

....I also have very little sympathy for Amy's drug, alcohol addictions, and their consequences and I didn't enjoy her voice when I first heard it but the songs she has done that I do like, I like a lot.

Agreed song not great, can't understand half the words she sings....
But the film looks good and Javier Bardem should make an excellent baddie :happy2:
