Hi all! Fairly new here so go easy on me - I did a search before posting this but couldn't find anything relevant.
Picked up my gti at the weekend, loving it so far! :happy2:
There is a slightly annoying rattling from the rear seat area (car is a 5door version) when cornering etc.
I thought it was the seat belts (bits you plug into clattering together etc) - I tried putting a cloth between them but the noise remains...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Could be the seat latch. Try driving with your rear seats folded down and see if the noise disappears.

^ thanks mate, will give that a go on my way home tonight.
I thought it might be something in the spare wheel well(toolkit etc) but it doesn't sound that far away if you know what I mean.

Hi mate mine does this, rear passenger side. I have checked the following and still not found it:
1. Rear parcel shelf
2. Rear seats
3. Rear belts
Having searched on forum and read through some previous post it looks like it maybe coming from the rear lights fitted to the tailgate. Im going to take them apart and see if anything is look. Mine sounds like squeeking plastic....does my box in.

Thanks for all the help as above.
I've tried the seats folded down, plus rear belts plugged in, and adjusting the parcel shelf strings, but the noise remains!
I think I have tracked the rattling down to the rear air vents - one of these is missing the chrome adjuster tab, and am wondering if this is knocking around inside..
Can anyone shed any light on removing the rear vents/getting inside them?
Thanks in advance!
