Title: Hella xenon look headlights
Post by: Shabba168 on October 11, 2012, 10:17:44 pm
I have these fitted to my car at the mo with a hids4u ultimate kit fitted. But the lights aren't very bright when on the road on dipped. When ever I have had hids before the main beam isn't much use as dipped is so good but it's not the case with mine.

Anyone had this issue?

Was thinking 55watt kit but draws 8 amps

I have a set of these headlights. I am looking to install some HID's but not sure what spec to go for. Do you have the 35w?

Your probably being hampered by the fact that the projectors are designed for h7 halogen bulbs and your using a hid bulb inside it...

The hella celis headlights for the mk5 use the same projectors for the d2s (hid) and h7 bulbs and give great output when used with a drop in kit...

What colour temperature are your bulbs? 5000k is by far the best for light output and colour...

Was gunna try some nightbreakers and see what they were like

The hid kit came with the headlights from the chap I bought them off. So not sure what colour would guess 6000k

I have a d2s kit sat a work in 6000k and have seen h7 to D2s adapters maybe these might be better
