Title: Armrest... Now with video
Post by: Antvw on October 12, 2012, 06:17:25 pm
Hi all,

Fitted my arm rest today with my existing centre console. But I don't know if I'm being paranoid but it feels like its not as solid as it felt from the car i got it from?! It feels like there is play from side to side. All torx bits are in on the bottom two on the back sides and one at the front near the handbrake.

If anyone has an opinion on their own armrest quality after fitting that would be awesome help.

Cheers.

To be honest mine moves a little from side to side - as you mentioned not too many screws holding it down, especially at the front

Cheers for the link, but from what I can see I have everything apart from number 16 but I can't see that doing much.

I did get the centre console which matched too so think il check if there are any fixings to that which are more structural.

Cheers for the replies!

Something can't be right then, just gonna upload a video of how much movement I have.

I'm seriously thinking of taking the thing out and having no arm rest  :fighting:

Hmmm that does seem to have more movement than mine, is the plastic top positioned down tightly so that the clips on the edges push into the cage underneath?

Just found a screw I missed out under where the screw for the cup holder goes. It's better, but I cave over a screw hole in the same area which goes through the side. But there is nothing it secures to and the outter cover covers it. Strange lol

I think I can live with it as it is now its much better, but there must be something not right somewhere.

Cheers for the replies

Yeah that's me Eddie.

That would be awesome.

As for the coding we spoke about I don't suppose you know the part numbers for the bits I need?

Thanks Eddie
