Title: correct engine oil ?

can someone tell me what the recomended engine oil i should be using for my gti
i dont think it is long life oil in just now but i need to buy some so i can store in my garage for when needed
my old mk4 was 10w40 semi but im sure this car is diff

This is asked at least once a week. It's Castrol Edge 5W30  :smiley:

Buy it from Asda if you like to pay least amount of money   :wink:

thanks for that,, yes the manual does but only lists a vw part number and it was years ago it was printed so oils get better as the manual states and a current version may be better
