My god, that RS3 sounds epic!!!!
It sounds like an absolute monster, He must have a decat???
-
That driver is serious. He is f*cking epic... I need a rs3 ASAP so I can track the beauty...
-
Great find / watch
-
Gonna say, hes done that before ! impressive.
-
Looks quick..... but it all looks too easy. Masses of understeer too.
Give me the M3 GTR!

The M3 kept losing its backside

Yeah, that sounds like fun, but challenging too! More than simply steering and modulating the throttle.
-
Good vid, but not even my misses feeds the wheel! :signLOL:

Not sure it's much fun when your ar$e starts to wiggle at 120mph :stupid:
-
Ah, that's called feeling ALIVE! You might not experience that driving an Audi though
-
Awful lap.
sh*t lines, sh*t steering inputs and generally driving like a clown. Typical of someone wanting a 'scalp' without the other player knowing the game - no wonder the M3 owner waved him through, I'd not want that bellend anywhere near my £100k car.
-
8min20 btg lap with bit of waving is good, but for a gts???
-
My mate Nige gets around in less than 8:20 in a MKII GTI with a 170bhp ABF. That RS3 is a fast car, the driver got it round by virtue of luck, rather than talent.
M3 GTS should be good for about a 7:20 BTG.
-
Is that a move for the handbrake at 4:28 past the 997? :stupid: Could be wrong.
-
That guy in the RS3 has some massive spuds. Not sure i would be happy with it moving around as much as that. Good video though.
-

Should be 8'00" b to g in those easily. :happy2:
-
Sounds mental, why would you have the window open?
Surely this creates masses of drag.

Or just plain f*cking stupid.
-
Someone whos 'neverbeen' I don't think flashing lights and horn honking is considered good etiquette on the ring? :driver:
-
Problem with timing is you get giddy and flashing does happen sadly, but he was very aggressive and probs why was not that fast, he relied heavenly on 4wd, pushing front wide on most corners.
-
At first the car was handling fine. I suspect the tyres simply overheated later on in the lap! It is a bloody heavy car on road tyres after all.
I think some of you guys are being a bit harsh on the guy. It's a rs3 not Porsche, it's the sort of car you can throw about, and bumpier tracks/roads is a hoot in these 2.5tfsi's

challenging for who? maybe for a bodyshop to repair it after he hits the barrier;P
-
The driver.
-
The driver.
Granted I think it was a brown trouser moment for him as he aborted his lap after that.
Im all for going sideways, and thinks maybe getting a bit hairy, but not in a 100k car.
-
I'd be more inclined to say he was losing the back end because he was too busy keeping an eye on what the idiot behind him was doing.
It's TF, and road rules apply. A lot of visitors (this guy was French?) instantly void their insurance as soon as they set wheels on it, most people know this. I would sacrifice a lap every time to avoid some clown punting me down the track, and doing a runner/having no means to pay.
He ruined his tyres going in too early, too hot and scrubbing off speed with understeer. The car itself would go around very quickly, just not with him behind the wheel.
-
No point really comparing AWD RS3 vs RWD M3. AWD is very easy to go quickly, RWD requires plenty of skill...
Personally would go for m3 every time.

WTF was with the waving!!!
Definitely a case of the car coaxing the driver around the track rather than the driver coaxing the car.

I've watched his other videos now and I was wrong and you are right. He is a bit of a tool of a driver. And he clearly uses the handbrake on one section of the track in his other videos.
He's brave driving his 40k car around the ring like that, not something I'd do.

Well setup rwd cars can be a doddle to drive fast too! Apparently the exige v6s falls into tht category as does the 458.
-
Yup, he needs to slow down to be faster, if that makes sense? I imagine it'll be in the barriers pretty soon.

Backwards hopefully.
F/s 2.5 Tfsi  :ashamed:
-
This guy would have put that plonker in his place and know doubt into the barriers and with some very nice smooth driving!
-
How is the rs3 in the first video managing to bounce off the redline despite being tiptronic?
-
Thought the same too

Re: DSG Question..

In the RS cars, it doesn't shift up automatically when in 'M', so you can bounce the car on the rev limiter. All other implementations of DSG will auto-shift when you approach the rev limit.
-
I got scared watching that and turned it off @ about 3 mins in :chicken: he was an absolute idiot and shouldn't be allowed on the ring :fighting: The guy in the M3 did the right thing to let him go :congrats: which is all I saw up to.
I know some people get carried away with the whole ring business but when it is endangering lives the people in question should be banned off there...same with all other circuits Europe and the UK.
-
Waving him past as he does not want to get passed by a £45K car in his 100K+ Beemer :signLOL:

Or scared that some irresponsible dickhead is going to write it off. You choose.

... Watching him doesn't fill you with confidence does it. He looks like he's gonna stack it every corner.
-
What a hero!! :stupid:

Would you still have married her if she did? :rolleye:

Who says the geezer in the M3 isn't his mate???
-
Good chance it is tbh, as he seemed to have waited for him, then he also waved at him aswell. TBH the M3 driver wasnt driving any better anyway
