Title: Rear Wiper...
Post by: captaindugg on October 15, 2012, 11:09:47 am
Hi guys
I've had a good old search and read but can't find all my answers!  My rear wiper has decided to give it up...if I push back on it you can here it pushing water to the back, 25% comes out of the jet on the outside, the other 75% goes inside the car, and ends up in with the spare tyre!  The actual wiper arm does not move at all though.

I checked all fuses and all seem to be ok and not blown.

So I have removed the panel.  Then I tried to spray water and well after that everything was soaked! lol...it did look at tho it is coming out of the actual sealed unit piece.  Any ideas?  Or if the arm doesn't move it is just a case of a whole new wiper/motor arm unit?

Have many of you removed it entirely, shall I just take it off and plug it or replace with a new motor....hmmm....

Thanks for any help!

You will need a new motor unit, i had to replace mine a bit ago.

The washer fluid goes through the motor arm and over time it seizes and then shears off.

Probably water has got in your motor and shorted it.

You also might need a new wiper arm as my old one was solid, but you can buy a wiper puller which might help. Its an easy job really once you get everything apart.
