Hi everyone well I'm lucky to have a loving sister and her husband work in British airways so free flights for me. But where is good sort of cheapish e.g not Switzerland and for a complete novice for me and my girlfriend to ski for the weekend around the December the 8th for three day. Iv been looking at Mont Blanc in France will there be snow around this time is it good for a first timer or is skiing out the question in December any advice much appreciated :happy2:

I will be driving to Mont Blanc for Christmas hope its got plenty of snow on it as off boarding and hope to get the kids some lessons too
-
Is Mont Blanc area nice to go even if there's no snow Mat ed30

Mont Blanc is good any time of the year. We actually go there more in the summer than in the winter. I wouldn't particularly recommend the slopes to beginners though. You're far better off somewhere in Austria.

Ok mate will take a look cheers for advice everyone

I'd have a look at Alpbach. Haven't been for years but its where we'll probably take our young son on his first trip.

Do you know the airport to fly into

I think Innsbruck is the closest, but Salzburg can't be too far also.

Geneva is 30 min dive to chamonix Mont Blanc :happy2:

Another vote for Andorra, fly to Toulouse or Barcelona :happy2: was there a couple of weekends ago, no snow yet

I've never managed Geneva to Chamonix in less than an hour on the Autoroute Blanche. My parents have an apartment opposite the train station car park in Argentiere, so that's a further 20 minutes. You've got to be doing some speed to do Geneva to Chamonix in 30 minutes!
However I still think Innsbruck is still the closest airport to Alpbach, which I think was the question :happy2:

Austria is also great for beginners... went to Soldeu (?) year before last.... was f***k all snow though :ashamed:

I have an apartment near megeve and that's 30 mins from geneva but to be fair chamonix is another 20 km so maybe not, you can haul to st gervais on autoroute Blanche though

I learnt to ski in Borovets, Bulgaria. Dirt cheap and a few beginners/intermediate slopes. :happy2:

only Italy for me! Best weather sunshine usually, much better compared to Austria, Switzerland or France! Also much cheaper and great food!
Try Madonna Di Campiglio in Val Di Sole which means valley of the sun
