My edition 30 is the first auto type box I've owned so I'm new to all of this...
Few things I have noticed are,
When taking off from the lights at a very slow pace with minor throttle input the car can feel a bit jerky but as soon as I apply normal throttle input the car is very smooth and changes gears smoothly too with no jerks.
Car does the same in reverse, feels a bit jerky with small throttle inputs but fine once more throttle is applied. It's more noticeable in reverse.
The mech unit was replaced under warranty back in 2008 and the cars due a DSG service in around 8/9K. Has anyone experienced or heard of 2 mech unit failures? Or Have same symptoms my car has?
Car has REVO stage 1 with VWR suspension parts If that's relavent

Try a DSG reset with VCDS if anyone has it near you that can help. Then I'd recommend the DSG service straight away to try and cure it. If this doesn't then it could well be the Mech unit again.

I was thinking of getting the service ASAP. Would u recommend and a specialist or VW? Both are around the same price! Is there a list of people on here with the VCDS, I'm in Edinburgh.
Does this sound like the typical probs a failed mech unit would cause?

And if it poss it a failed mech unit what's the chances of VW replacing it under warranty. It's a 2007 car with 71,000 miles and full VWSH

IF it does turn out to be the Mech unit, try and get some good will from a VW dealer or VW customer care. Others have in the past.
Try this link for VAGCOM/VCDS users in your area.

It does sound like it could be the Mech unit, but don't hit the panic button yet, you could also try the throttle reset at the same time if you get someone to do the DSG reset for you. :happy2:

I'll pm a few members off the list. Hopefully a reset or service should do it. Thanks for your help :)
