Title: Best looking tail pipes?

I have the standaard mk5 GTI tailpipes and they are rusty/corroded (unable to clean them/make them chrome again).
I want to replace them with two new welded tailpipes (no need for a complete exhaust).
I've seen different models and sizes, but can't decide which looks best.
I've seen the Milltek ones, which are the same model as o.e.m. but a little bigger> 76mm (are the stock ones 70mm?)
I've seen the Milltek GT80 ones, which look good.
I've seen the APR RSC ones, which look like the GT80's but the tips look 'obliquely', also nice.
I haven't seen the stock look but with a 80mm or 90mm size. Is this possible?

What do you guys think (on standard rear bumper).

But of course this is personal preference, but I'm looking for your opinions, maybe some extra options (models/sizes I haven't seen) and photo's.

'Unfortunately' the garage where I want to do this, can only deliver tailpipes from 'Fox-exhaust systems' and they have a little less angle cut: 15 degrees instead of 35 degrees ( http://www.fox-sportauspuff.de/store-products.php?pName=anschweissendrohr-typ-16-80-mm-laenge-300-mm-rund-eingerollt-15-abgeschraegt-ohne-absorber-p-1340&cName=sportendrohre-typ-16--80-mm-c-530_569_572 )
Will 15 versus 35 degrees make a real difference???

Can you replace the original tips with these or do you have to buy the backbox? would like a chunkier look :laugh:

they are staggered and wash away in two plains which may explain it...
although one looks narrower they are the same as picture 4 shows..

I've tried AG Metal Polish they are still quite dark. As mentioned earlier in the thread, should I try wire wool? Should they actually be silver/chrome in colour?

Yes they should be chrome, same as the standard GTI.

yeah it does spoil the looks of the car--just send milltek a e mail about it,if i get no joy of them i will popdown to see Nig :happy2:

Those tips don't stick out far enough on the white Ed 30..Surely the lower bumper will get exhaust crap all around the outlets.

slash cut Millteks are very nice. Prefer them to the BCS IMO.

Thanks guys. I've ordered two 80mm, 15 degree cut, tailpipes (brand: Fox exhausts in Germany) and they are going to be fitted asap over here in The Netherlands.
I want it to look like on 'nige bcs' his black gti. Exactly how I want it.
I also like the Milltek GT look, but immitation's dont look very good (quality) and originil Milltek's are a bit too expensive for me...
I also want to keep the o.e.m. look, so above is the best for me!

Thanks for all the replies and pictures. I hope to approach the 'nige bcs' tailpipe look.
My center resonator is also going to be deleted when the tailpipes are fitted. Hope I don't get a drone... (seen many Youtube movies, which I like)
