I fancy getting a set of R32/ED30 (are they basically the same?) rear lights for my GTI.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best place to pick them up?
Awesome GTI have them for £227
Ebay has them for £182
-
I see genuine ones pop up in the for sale section on here. Keep an eye out. They are usually priced about £150-160.
-
Thanks mate, not sure if I want them new or not!!!
-
I fancy a set of these too at some point , if you buy them new do they come complete so you can just swap straight over?
-
Yes complete set and straight swap. I love the look of them on my car.
-
make sure they are not german ones or you'll have a white fog and red reverse....

i decided to buy the above, i did call Awesome GTI but they couldn't match the price.
Fingers crossed!!

i ordered a single unit from these guys when one of them started to leak water and stained on the inside. Came quickly and was indeed a proper vw part
-
I ordered mine from eurowagens originally and they work fine, but recently the passenger side one has condensed up. I ordered a single unit last week as i thought i better change it ,after i tried lots of things to stop it. And when i swapped them over i was very surprised by the amount of water that came out of it. Is this a common problem ?

It is actually just a fit problem. I took my old one off to dry out a couple of times but turns out my error was not securing it extremely tight to the car. I only had the nuts finger tight but tightening them with a spanner to the body of the cars pulls the unit together and creates the seal.
-
I used a socket to secure mine but i did not want to do it too tight because at the end of the day its a plastic unit

How about tinting the fronts while you are at it...

Slightly OT - I've noticed that the R32 has extra reflectors in the bumper - is there a reason for this - do the R32 lights not have reflectors?

Probably because the lights reflectors are tinted, but they are still there.
