I've had the version G off today and it's looking pretty shagged already, gone all baggy - no holes, but I can feel it isn't working as well as when new.
So, time to upgrade me thinks. What's the other options aside from a Forge one?
-
You could either go for a Forge, a Forge or even a Forge DV...then again you may just be better with a Forge DV
Don't resist, just come over to the Forge side young Danza :happy2:
-
I believe there may also be an EVOMS one....
-
go Revision D - new piston type from VW, had it on since january no probs
cheaper than forge no maintenance required which you do with forge and according to vag logs in the US holds boost longer than the forge
I paid around £40 :happy2:
-
Is that what stealers are putting on as warranty swap outs these days?... wonder just HOW much I can take the p*** when it's in tomorrow??
-
they'll will probably put a 'g'one on if you ask for it to be replaced, as technically the 'd' is meant for the new tsi but as I said had it on since jan and no probs
according to my boost guage i hold 23 psi right up to 7krpm! :happy2:

according to my boost guage i hold 23 psi right up to 7krpm! :happy2:
whooosh :happy2: now thats holding boost , mine drops to 15psi or less at 7k!
maybe I should change mine anyway just to be sure :signLOL:
-
yes, cant say i would recommend the forge with my issues...
-
I've just ordered the TSI (rev D) VAG OEM DV [part number 06H 145 710 D] from my dealer. I'm removing my Forge DV - I find it a bit slow witted compared to the OEM one and even with the uprated spring it starts to bleed off boost at around 5K RPM.
OEM Piston DV all the way :happy2: :happy2:
-
Just picked up my oem d version today, will be fitting in the morn :happy2: :happy2:
-
go forge, i have a forge on mine with the spacer and it sounds just right, not to chavvy or whooshy, just a nice ttttsssssshhhhh,
-
Does that revision D TSI DV fir both axx aand bwa engine codes?
Mine's an early one, looking for a solid replacement.
Cheers, Sam :jumpmove:
-
I have the Forge fitted as well, havn't really noticed much difference in the whoosh factor, then again, I had the Turbo back Non Res Milltek fitted at the same time....... :signLOL:
-
I ended up ordering a D-type, whether I live to regret that remains to be seen...
-
D types fit early AXX engines as i have on eon mine, And the can also be modified to fit a forge spacer valve.
-
having experienced many DV's i would say it's all down to preferance, the piston style aftermarket DV's are good and hold boost well but the OEM DV's have a much smoother driving characteristic.
Personally i would run OEM in my own car for daily use..... but with a 3071 i'd go aftermarkert :)
-
Well, a good few hundred miles under its belt and some 1/4 mile action and its performing very well.... I hope this continues.
Oh, banged the Revo settings back to what they were before it went too... even better with the new DV :happy2:
-
Using the revision D myself, is keeping up very well as I rag the car a lot. Holding 22psi peak very nicely.
-
Just bought the revision D as well.
Now, can anybody tell me how to fit it on an ED30 please! :ashamed:
Looks like its just 3 bolts but I don't know where to find it on the car???
I have a friend with some axle stands so I'm hoping thats a good start :happy2:
Cheers!
SKAVIA
-
No need for axel stands with the ED30.
It you take off the engine cover then it's right in front of the engine :happy2:

Like you siad it's three bolts and one connector, job done :pomppomp:
-
Fantastic! Cheers Steve! :drinking:
Anything I need to do after fitting it or is it just plug and play?
-
Plug and Play :happy2:
-
tony , did you log before and after???
interested to know if the boost 'profile' is different between the valve types?
-
nah - used the ass dyno instead... was pound for pound with my mate's R36 in a 4th & floor it test, now I sail right past him.

Interesting you mention that turbo. Will revo supply software for it?
