Title: New owner from Scottish Borders
Post by: ScotGTI on October 25, 2012, 03:56:29 pm
Hi all, I purchased a 2006 pearlescent black Golf GTI two weeks ago, one owner, 60k miles, FSH, leather, cam belt and water pump replaced 2000 miles ago etc. I had a couple of small parking dings sorted, all alloys refurbed by The Wheel Specialist and the car now looks immaculate. Well chuffed, esp after suffering with a 1.4 Corsa Sxi for the last 4 years!

Welcome
Pearlescent black is a great colour. Lots of cleaning though, but looks really aggressive when shiney. Get those shiney photos up for us forum magpies :happy2:

I'm normally down at the Jim Clark Rally every year too. I'll keep my eyes peeled for Mk5 GTI's next time. Normally just down for the Friday and Saturday stuff. I'd like to see more of the classic (Reiver's) rally stuff but that normally takes place on the Sunday.

Back on topic though. :worthless:

Thanks everyone, I will keep an eye out for you all, the GTI is proving to be an awesome car to have for the Borders roads! All of a sudden, I can overtake (safely of course) in places that I never stood a chance before  :happy2:

........And the road I want to drive the GTI up next year. 21 hair pins bends on the 8 mile climb up Alpe d'Huez. Picture taken on a previous trip.
