What is the recommened or preferrd battery AH for TDI . I went on eurocarparts and it gives 74AH . If i put an 80Ah or above would it be ok ?
-
Yes but that may be overkill plus the higher amperage battery may be larger than the standard one and not fit without removing the car's battery protective case.
-
Other than waiting for your battery to just die and leave you stranded how do you know when its time for a replacment?
Can you have it checked and when should you change it?
-
most garages have a battery load test machine

Brcause my AH is only 63 and ive seen posts on tdiforums thats it. Should be a min 72ah and preferabbly 80ah . With the lower Ah it.effects the cars performance. Thats what they say

The smallest fitted to the GTI I have seen is Varta 60 ah / 480A battery ( VW # 1J0 915 105 AC )
If you dont have heated seats and similar you could get one and save a few kilos.
I am running one on a basic GTI and its been fine.

I dont get it if the ah goes down does the ampage go up ir sUmmit?
-
No, AH is how long the battery "lasts" and the other figure is cold crank, how much the battery can give in a burst (for starting).
