I recently passed comment on a VW Bettle (a newer model, not one from the 70's)  with a rusty bonnet and flaking paint down one side and got told it was the "Rat Look". Not having any idea what this was (or is) I asked the young scallywag why he wanted to look like a Twat, he got arsy and said "RAT", I replied yes and I said Twat. Deaf as well as stupid apparently.

I think the story behind this car is that it was in a fire and a total loss anyway. With that backstory, the fact it even runs is a bit of an achievement imho, but generally I agree that the rat look looks poo.

I think the only cars that pull off the rat look are the genuine old cars with patina, trying to make modern cars appear rat look is just stoopid! :stupid:

Is it just a piss take of concours or what? some people going the extra mile to make their cars the best they can be while others go the complete opposite way to make a point?

Dont mind the rat look when done with some thought, but that looks more inbreed, poor mad max than anything else.

I'm sure on the scene it's pretty cool, I love the rat look cars, bit far that one though :signLOL: but I get why 18 year olds buy old cars, cheap to run and rat em to stand out, better than a corsa on halfords wheels.
