Title: Nav Options
Post by: Genner on October 28, 2012, 11:03:52 am
Not long purchased my car, I think it had a factory nav unit but the previous owner took it out and sold it. I want to know what unit will give me all the latest features for the best price. I take it the RNS 510 is the daddy ? Is there a specific model that works with iPhone etc ? And where is the cheapest place to buy ?

Lastly, are the vw copies off eBay any good ? Anyone with any experiences ?

If you get an RNS you will still need an MDI kit to use your iPhone , which is extra cost.

If you want OEM then the rns510 is the one to go for. Prices they range from £400 - £700+. If you want streaming music you need an mdi, as said above or bluetooth. I think they are upto J or Hs or higher, best one to go for is the one with led screen which started at C. Eddie off here can get them, nick off r32oc can or ebay.

I wouldnt buy the copies, save a little more and get the real thing
