Title: Drivers door not unlocking
Post by: essoman on November 01, 2012, 09:08:16 am
Anyone any ideas whats the likely cause of my driver's door not unlocking with the remote fob,all the others unlock fine. The problem seems to be getting worse. All the doors lock ok but sometimes I have to press the remote 10-15 times before it will open.
It's driving me MAD !

may be a faulty window regulator (motor for window but controls other things too) such as unlocking.

does it lock first time every time??

may be worth doing a vag com diagnostic for error codes!

had this prob on my audi a4. replaced the regulator (from ebay as stealers are £250+) and sorted  the prob.

ive just had this problem. was intermittent at first but then it wouldnt work at all. the door still opened with the key though, does yours?
i have just replaced the door lock mechanism and module and at the moment it seems ok, but i literally did it on tuesday night.
it is possible to repair the circuit board in the module if it is one of the solder joints that has cracked using this guide http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5694197-Door-Module-Repair-DIY&highlight=door+module

i tried with mine but there were no obvious faults with my board, so i bit the bullet and bought a new mechanism and module from the stealers for £140.

hope this helps
