Title: Michelin PilotSport 3's - Massive thumbs up!
Post by: Mk5 GTian on November 03, 2012, 01:53:53 pm
Done my 100 miles of Driving Miss Daisy to get rid of the stuff they put on the tyres, and boy, what grip!

Can't make a fair comparison against the Contisport contact 2's I had on the front  as they were far from new, but I can compare against Pirelli P Zero Rosso's as I had those on from new on my shadow blue, and these Michelins are deffinately superior.

I was also told by the guy in Tyre city that they have noticed these last longer than the Goodyear F1's too, so Brucie Bonus all round!

I agree great grip

Big down side is fuel consumption, they are some of the worst.

The new ratings that came into force on the 1st of July show this.

The NEW top dog are the Conti Preimum 5's - A for Wet, C for fuel, and 71db

PS3's are A for Wet, F for fuel and 71db

Mileage wise I only see 10,000 to12,000 out of a set of fronts

^^ thanks Kiwi - I may try some of the conti's next time round

Ian - glad you got some tyres your pleased with. Interesting that you rate them higher than the Rosso's which are supposed to be quite good  :surprised:

I was shown the latest ratings by Tyre City for all the tyres, including the Conti sport contact 5's F1's, Pirelli Rosso's & PS3's and they were all exactly the same: A for wet, E for fuel and 71 or 72db.

i dont know if the deal is still on, but around 3 weeks ago when i bought my michelins, michelin had a deal on where if you bought two 17inch + tyres they would send you a £50 fuel voucher. Still waiting on it, but it means i only paid £90 a tyre fitted.

How much did you pay for them?

Im needing a front set and cant decide on what to go for? Ive been quoted £109 fitted for either Goodyear, Pirelli, bridgestone or dunlops...So im looking online to find out which are the best out of that bunch?

If the Goodyears are F1, they are the best of that lot.
